Nydian E. Coker, LPC, LCAS, NCC

Nydian received her Bachelors in Psychology in 2004 and her Masters in Community Counseling in 2006 from Winthrop University and brings over 11 years of post-graduate clinical experience to the practice. In the past, Nydian has worked in outpatient substance abuse settings with adolescents and adults and has years of experience in outpatient and in-home/community settings working with children and families.  Nydian utilizes CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Play Therapy, Rational-Emotive Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Psycho-Educational Therapy in her therapeutic repertoire.

Nydian is an LPC with her additional licensure as a LCAS (Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist) as well as being a NCC (National Certified Counselor).  Nydian is also bilingual in English and Spanish and is a great asset to our community in meeting the needs of clients looking for a bilingual therapist.

Clients who meet Nydian immediately recognize her warm, caring and calming nature with both children and adults.  She is highly skilled and effective working with clients to determine what their goals are and assisting in helping them achieve those goals in the most efficient manner possible. Nydian works with children, adolescents and adults of all ages.  She has particular expertise in childhood and adolescent behavioral and emotional issues of all kinds, parenting/family issues, substance use and addictive disorders, dual-diagnosis, trauma, depression, anxiety and general life stressors and transitions.

Nydian offers day, evening and weekend appointments working hard to accommodate her client's busy lives and schedules.  Nydian accepts several major health insurances, as well as self-pay and a sliding scale as needed for clients without insurance or the financial means to pay full hourly rates.
