Reilly graduated from the University of Notre Dame with her BA in Psychology and a minor in poverty studies. She subsequently moved to New York City to further her education at Columbia University, earning a Master of Science in Social Work with a clinical concentration in health, mental health, and disabilities.
Reilly has had vast clinical training and experiences, including professional positions in various medical settings in New York City. Working in hospital settings, she provided counseling and support to patients and families alike coping with catastrophic, chronic and terminal illnesses and assisted in the care coordination process for hospice and palliative care services. As a Victim Services Advocate, Reilly also played an integral role in supporting victims of domestic violence, intimate partner and sexual violence upon arrival to the emergency department –coordinating with nurses, physicians, administrators and law enforcement and was responsible for safety planning.
Reilly has worked in other private practice settings, providing treatment for individual clients including children, adolescents and adults, while also running DBT skills training groups. Reilly also worked in a school setting in which she served middle school girls in Upper Manhattan, providing counseling for a variety of behavioral health issues, including crisis intervention as needed.
Reilly works with children ages 11 and up, teens and adults. She specializes in treating clients presenting with grief/bereavement, behavioral or school issues, depression, social or generalized anxiety, life transitions, general stress, social and relational issues, medical issues, obsessive compulsive tendencies, self-injurious behavior and anger management. Utilizing a variety of research based modalities, Reilly has extensive training in DBT and CBT and also utilizes mindfulness, motivational interviewing, cognitive challenging, collaborative problem solving, emotional regulation and reframing, as well as interpersonal effectiveness skills.
Striving to meet each client where they are, Reilly collaboratively with her clients tailors her clinical approach to meet the individual unique needs and objectives of her clients. Reilly is dedicated to providing each client with a personalized approach and treatment plan designed specifically for them. Her therapy style is warm, compassionate, strength based and solution focused. She considers the therapeutic relationship as a partnership and feels it is a privilege to partner with clients on their unique journey of healing, introspection and self-discovery. It is very important to Reilly that she fosters a safe space and environment allowing for clients to feel fully comfortable in their sharing and vulnerability. She invites you to come as you are, fully and authentically you and know this will always be a safe place providing you the comfort and encouragement to do so. Providing culturally competent care and being a safe space and ally for any marginalized populations including LGBTQIA+ clients is very important to her.
Reilly is a kind, compassionate, easy going, caring, authentic and passionate person who puts others at ease as soon as they meet her. In her personal time, she is an ardent cat lover and enjoys yoga, cooking and reading psychological thriller novels, and sometimes indulges in a little fun and mindless reality TV! Reilly is somewhat of a newbie to the Charlotte area, coming most recently from NYC and having grown up in the Chicago area and is enjoying discovering the Queen City.
Offering both in person and virtual/telehealth appointments, Reilly has availability weekdays and some evenings. She is in network with BCBS, Aetna and Cigna insurances and also accepts private pay and/or sliding scale options. Reilly offers potential new clients a free 15-minute phone consultation for you to share more about you, your goals and needs, as well as to help determine therapeutic and scheduling compatibility.
